Hi, I’m Greg Davis. I’m running for State Rep and asking for your vote.

My wife Lynne and I had the good fortune to move to Salem, NH in 2002.  Since then, we’ve seen the town grow and change with the addition of new families and businesses, lots of construction and some noticeable increase in traffic!  These changes certainly can be challenging, but they also bring opportunities.  I’d like to work with others to ensure the changes benefit us all.   I believe my careers and life experience equip me to do that.

I retired after 32 years as an information technology (IT) professional. Starting as a programmer, after a six month training course, I ultimately became responsible for a staff of IT professionals that supported and enhanced the core business software of a local multibillion dollar company.  As a leader I was successful because I listened to and respected the experience of my people and directed their talents and energies to realize business goals, all within budget constraints.

Previously, I had the privilege of serving as a Franciscan priest ministering to congregations in New York City and New Jersey.  I was also a chaplain to English speaking troops and their families at a NATO base in Holland.  I was pursuing my PhD in Religious Studies (Summa Cum Laude) at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. My dissertation dealt with the ethics of deception in social psychology research.  My education demanded seeing things from different points of view, evaluating the facts, and arriving at honest conclusions.  And certainly, respect for others, empathetic listening, encouragement, and integrity are essential to authentic ministry.

Listen. Learn. Lead.

Retirement has allowed me to give back to our community as a volunteer at the Salem Animal Rescue League, the Bread of Life Food Pantry and as a board member of Isaiah58NH (a non-profit helping to house and feed the needy).  I’m continually inspired by what we can accomplish together to help those in need.

I’ve also been able to pursue photography a bit more and pick up the guitar again (though in truth maybe I should have let sleeping dogs lie!). Music both calms and energizes me.  And with photography, I’m nurtured by the healing power of nature and the beauty of our world.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.  Select “Topics” for my perspective on some important NH issues.

I ask for your vote.  It would be an honor and a sacred trust to represent you in Concord.
